TL;DR
Headache & Migraine Diary is built to keep your health data private.
Your headache logs stay on your device. On iPhone they can also sync through your own iCloud, which we can't access.
There are no accounts. We never ask for your name, email address or password.
The app doesn't use analytics, we don't sell your data and we don't show ads.
Information We Collect
Headache & Migraine Diary is available on iPhone and Android. You don't need an account to use it, and we don't ask for your name, email address or password. The app doesn't use analytics. Here is what the app collects:
- Your headache logs and medications. These are stored on your device (see "Where Your Data Is Stored"). We don't receive them.
- Purchase information. RevenueCat processes subscriptions using an anonymous ID. Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never see your payment details.
- Feedback you choose to send. If you submit feedback in the app, we receive your rating and message, along with your app version and build, platform, operating system version, language, country or region, your anonymous purchase ID and your subscription status.
- Emails you send us. If you contact support, the email draft includes your app version, operating system and anonymous purchase ID. We receive your email address and message only when you send it.
Where Your Data Is Stored
- iPhone and iPad: your headache logs and custom medications are saved on your device. If iCloud is turned on, they also sync to this app's private storage in your own iCloud account. iCloud is operated by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, and we can't access it.
- Android: your data stays on your device. The app doesn't sync to Google Drive or any other cloud service. If you have turned on Android backup, your device may include app data in your Google account backup, which is operated by Google under Google's privacy policy.
- Your app settings and onboarding answers are also saved on your device.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your device. The app doesn't send your notification token to us or to anyone else. You can turn reminders off in the app's settings or in your device's notification settings at any time.
Third-Party Services
The app uses the following services:
- RevenueCat: subscriptions and in-app purchases. On iPhone, RevenueCat may also receive an Apple Search Ads attribution token, which tells us whether an install came from one of our Apple Search Ads campaigns.
- Apple App Store and Google Play: app downloads, payments and ratings, under Apple's and Google's privacy policies.
- Apple iCloud (optional, iPhone and iPad only): syncing your headache logs across your devices.
We don't show ads in the app, and we don't sell your personal data.
This Website
This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it, for example which pages are read most and how people find the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives information such as your IP address, browser, device type and the pages you visit. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. We don't use advertising cookies, and the app itself doesn't use Google Analytics.
We also count visits with Supermatter, our own analytics service. It uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It records the page you open, the website that linked to it, your browser language, your country from your IP address, and clicks on our App Store and Google Play links. To count daily visitors, it turns your IP address and browser details into a scrambled code that changes every day, so visits can't be followed from one day to the next. Your IP address isn't stored, and the codes are deleted after two days.
The website may also store your language and light or dark mode preference in your browser. Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security and reliability.
Data Security
Data the app sends is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Because your headache logs are stored on your device and, on iPhone, optionally in your iCloud account, keep your device protected with a passcode or biometric lock and keep your Apple or Google account secure.
